SID, SAI & KIM
Where to find the official scheme documents for any mutual fund scheme.
Last updated:
Every mutual fund scheme has three official documents. Please read them before you invest.
What the documents are
| Document | What it contains |
|---|---|
| Scheme Information Document (SID) | Everything about a particular scheme: its objective, asset allocation, investment strategy, risk factors, benchmark, fees and expenses, and exit load |
| Statement of Additional Information (SAI) | Information about the mutual fund itself: the sponsor, trustee and AMC, and general legal, tax and investor-service information |
| Key Information Memorandum (KIM) | A short summary of the SID, which accompanies the application form |
AMCs also publish addenda (notices of changes), monthly factsheets and portfolio disclosures.
Where to find them
- The AMC’s own website — every fund house publishes the SID, SAI and KIM for all its schemes, usually under “Downloads” or “Statutory Disclosures”.
- AMFI — amfiindia.com links to all AMCs and to scheme information.
- SEBI — sebi.gov.in hosts the offer documents filed by mutual funds.
