Fund Selection Policy
How GTDIS Distribution shortlists the mutual fund schemes and products it presents to investors.
Last updated:
This page explains how GTDIS Distribution decides which schemes and products to present to investors. It describes our process as a distributor and is not investment advice.
Our approach
We are empanelled with a wide range of fund houses, so we are not tied to the products of any one company. We aim to present options that are appropriate to what an investor has told us about their goals, time horizon and comfort with risk.
What we look at
The fund house
- Track record, size and stability of the AMC
- Investment process and risk controls
- Experience and continuity of the fund management team
The scheme
- Whether the investment objective and category match the investor’s stated need
- Performance across full market cycles and against its benchmark and category — not recent returns alone
- Consistency of returns and behaviour in falling markets
- Portfolio quality, concentration and, for debt funds, credit quality and interest-rate sensitivity
- Scheme size, expense ratio and exit load
- The scheme’s riskometer rating
The investor
- Purpose of the investment and when the money is needed
- Existing investments and overall asset allocation
- Comfort with ups and downs in value
What does not influence our shortlist
The commission payable on a scheme is not a criterion in our selection. Commission rates are disclosed on our commission disclosure page.
Review
We review the schemes we present periodically. We may stop presenting a scheme if, for example, its strategy or fund manager changes, its risk profile changes, or its performance is persistently weak relative to its category.
The decision is yours
We share information and research to help you decide. You make the final decision, and you should read the Scheme Information Document and Key Information Memorandum before you invest. Past performance may or may not be sustained in future.
